The WorkSmart Foundation is a nonprofit organization focused on helping students explore meaningful career pathways through career-connected learning, hands-on experiences, mentorship, and community partnerships.
WorkSmart was created to help bridge the gap between education and the workforce by providing students with opportunities to explore careers, build confidence, develop employability skills, and connect learning to real-world experiences while still in school.
The WorkSmart Foundation advances workforce readiness by removing barriers and creating structured opportunities for career exploration, hands-on learning, mentorship, and real-world experiences.
Through a community-powered CTSO-style model that engages schools, families, industry, and training providers, WorkSmart helps connect students to meaningful career pathways that support successful transitions into postsecondary education, training, and the workforce.
Many students graduate without fully understanding the career opportunities available to them or how education connects to future pathways. WorkSmart was designed to help students explore careers earlier, gain exposure to real-world opportunities, and build confidence through meaningful experiences connected to their interests and strengths.
By helping students engage with career pathways early, WorkSmart encourages purpose-driven learning and helps students prepare for further education, training, and workforce opportunities.
WorkSmart combines career exploration, hands-on learning, mentorship, work-based learning, leadership development, and community partnerships into an engaging, gamified, career-connected system designed to help students actively explore future pathways.
Through Career Networks, projects, challenges, showcases, and real-world experiences, students move beyond passive career awareness and participate in meaningful opportunities that promote teamwork, problem-solving, leadership, and career readiness.
By creating interactive experiences connected to real industries and workforce opportunities, WorkSmart helps students build confidence, direction, and stronger connections between education and future success.
WorkSmart believes career readiness is strongest when schools, families, civic leaders, industry professionals, mentors, and community organizations work together to support students.
Through partnerships and community engagement, WorkSmart helps create meaningful opportunities that connect students with real-world experiences, workforce exposure, and career-connected learning designed to strengthen future pathways and workforce readiness.
The WorkSmart Foundation continues working to expand career-connected opportunities for students through Career Networks, internships, workplace learning, mentorship, and community partnerships.
The initial WorkSmart pilot and regional expansion efforts have been supported in part through community grants and partnerships, including support from the Pine Belt Foundation and the United Way.
As the organization grows, WorkSmart aims to create engaging student experiences that strengthen workforce readiness, encourage career exploration, and help students build meaningful pathways toward future education, training, and career success.
