Explore Careers. Build Skills. Make Connections.

A WorkSmart Career Network is our flexible, community-based version of a traditional career club. We use the term Career Network because learning extends beyond meetings and connects students with employers, mentors, volunteers, schools, families, and community partners.

Students explore careers, build workplace and leadership skills, earn WorkSmart badges, and take part in real-world experiences. There is no required meeting schedule, minimum number of members, or set number of activities.

The Network Leader sets the pace. A leader may guide a small group through badges or organize year-round activities such as work-based learning projects, community service, field trips, guest speakers, and events. Leaders may be parents, educators, career coaches, business professionals, industry partners, or community members.

Career Networks can be started through a school, homeschool group, church, library, community organization, business, or other local setting.

Whether you're a student, parent, educator, employer, or community volunteer, there's a place for you in WorkSmart.

You don't have to be a teacher or career expert. WorkSmart provides activity ideas, badge opportunities, resources, guidance, and support.

Prospective leaders complete required youth-safety forms and a background check provided by WorkSmart.

Badges can be completed individually or with a group, one at a time or over several months.
