WorkSmart Career Pathway Assistance and Support

Helping Students Access Tools, Experiences, and Opportunities

WorkSmart Career Pathway Support helps students who need support to participate fully in Career Clubs, internships, training, credentials, and other career readiness activities.

Funding comes from grants, donors, and community partners and is used to help remove barriers so students can prepare for college, training, and careers.

Why Financial Aid Exists

The goal of WorkSmart Career Pathway Support is to:

  • Help students who need support access career readiness opportunities
  • Provide tools, resources, and experiences needed for career pathways
  • Support students who are actively working toward their future goals

What Career Pathway Support May Cover

Depending on student need and available funding, support may include:

  • Career Kits or required tools
  • Certification or credential exam fees
  • Supplies or training materials
  • Professional clothing or safety gear
  • Technology needed for training or coursework
  • Transportation related to training or internships
  • Participation support for Career Clubs
  • Internship or work-based learning support (if funding allows)
  • College or training readiness resources

Support may range from a single item to multiple resources.

How Funding Decisions Are Made

 Awards are based on:

  • Available funding
  • Student need
  • Cost of requested items or support
  • Alignment with career goals
  • Participation in WorkSmart programming

Not all requests can be funded.

How Funds Are Distributed

Whenever possible, payments are made directly to vendors, training programs, or credential providers.

Career Pathway Support is only used for approved career readiness purposes.
