Empower Communities with WorkSmart

What Are Showcases?

Why Are They Important?

Why Are They Important?

WorkSmart showcases are interactive, career-connected events where students professionally present the results of their career exploration, work-based learning, certifications, projects, portfolios, and future goals through tri-fold displays and presentations.

Designed as a student-centered, reverse job fair experience, showcases allow students to represent their careers while connecting directly with younger students, businesses, colleges, mentors, and workforce professionals.

Why Are They Important?

Why Are They Important?

Many students complete school without ever having the opportunity to professionally present themselves, practice communication skills, or connect directly with workforce and community leaders. Often, they enter college or the workforce without ever knowing what their skills are or what they want to do.

WorkSmart showcases help bridge that gap by rewarding exploration, giving students opportunities to build confidence, demonstrate professionalism, and experience meaningful career-connected interactions before entering college, training, or the workforce.

Student Participation

Why Are They Important?

Student Participation

Students dress professionally and present their career experiences, certifications, resumes, portfolios, projects, and future goals through interactive displays connected to their careers.

Throughout the event, students answer questions, mentor younger students, speak with businesses and colleges, practice communication and interview skills, and participate in an engaging showcase environment designed to help students “shine” through their accomplishments and experiences.

Participation may include College and Career Readiness students, Smart Start students, Bridge to Career students, Career Network members, graduating seniors, or other student groups selected by local chapters.

Younger students in grades 6–8 are encouraged to attend the showcase and learn from presenters, while businesses, colleges, workforce partners, mentors, families, and community leaders participate by supporting student growth and career-connected opportunities.
